Child Therapy

Yoga for Special Children is a unique opportunity for learning and healing. It features a system of gentle and nurturing physical, mental and energetic movements. These movements stimulate and strengthen a child, enhancing the connection between mind and body.

Each child can participate according to his or her individual and developmental needs. It is a non-verbal language that improves health, perceptual abilities, moods and energy.

Yoga is fun for children! Children love yoga because it’s a chance to be playful—a child’s natural state—and this activates a child’s inherent wisdom, flexible action and creativity. As children learn yoga, they increase perceptual abilities helping to build their relationships with themselves, and strengthen connections between themselves, their parents and the world.

Yoga for Special Children (YSC) has been used successfully to help children with Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism spectrum disorders, Cerebral Palsy, Down syndrome, learning and emotional challenges, and other disabilities.

Read what Pam’s daughter achieved:

“I want to share how pleased I am with the results of the instructional yoga sessions for my daughter. The yoga sessions have been such a good one-on-one time for us that can tend to be forgotten about in our busy everyday lives. The benefits that have come from doing the yoga have been much more than I’d expected.

My daughter has always had such a difficult time calming herself and tends to usually be over or under excited. Since doing yoga sessions with her, she is much more centered, calm and focused. Her posture and muscle spasticity have always been a major concern. The yoga has really decreased her muscle tightness and rigidity. Her range off motion and flexibility are much better. Her posture is more aligned and she has better balance when she is seated which she has always struggled with. It is so nice to see her feeling more comfortable with her body. I love that look in her eyes she gets when she knows she’s doing it well. Anna has responded so well to you. She just lights up.

Thanks for all you’ve done.”
